Terms of Use | HashSign

These Terms of Use are between you and Exemplar Copy LLC d/b/a HashSign, a Texas limited liability company ("HashSign," "we," "us"). They cover the HashSign mobile application and hashsign.app (the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy at hashsign.app/privacy-policy.html.

1. The Service

HashSign is a document signing and records product. It lets you draft, inspect, sign, seal, and share documents, and to message other HashSign users. HashSign is not a law firm and not a licensed notary. It does not replace a licensed notary. Using the Service does not make Exemplar Copy LLC your lawyer.

2. Subscriptions

HashSign has a free tier. Hedera anchoring is a paid feature. Any paid feature is billed by Apple or Google at the price shown in that store when you subscribe. This page does not list prices. Taxes may be added by the store.

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by Exemplar Copy LLC. We do not receive your card number.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation, or when a free trial ends if you do not cancel first.
The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage and cancel a subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel the subscription.
Restore Purchases in the App restores a subscription already paid for on that store account.

3. AI features

Draft Contract and Legal Inspect run on your device unless you choose a cloud control.

Cloud boost (cloud-assisted drafting, also described as Cloud Assist) sends the contract text you submit to our server, which uses HashSign AI to produce a draft.
Deep review (AI inspection, also described as AI Inspect) sends the contract text, and any file you attach for that review, to HashSign AI to produce an inspection.

Those controls run only after you tap them. Exemplar Copy LLC does not use your documents, prompts, or messages to train public foundational AI models.

No legal advice. Cloud boost, Deep review, on-device drafting, and on-device inspection are automated informational tools. Their output is not legal advice, is not a recommendation to sign or not sign, and does not create an attorney-client relationship with Exemplar Copy LLC or anyone else. Have a lawyer review any document that matters to you.

4. Messages and documents

From HashSign version 1.3.0, 1:1 direct messages are encrypted on your device before they are stored. Private keys stay in Apple iCloud Keychain or the Android Keystore. HashSign's servers do not have those private keys or the message plaintext.

Deal Room messages and Vault documents are protected by TLS in transit and encryption at rest. That protection is separate from 1:1 encrypted messaging. A sealed document can carry an on-device post-quantum signature and a SHA-384 digest anchored to the Hedera Consensus Service. Only the digest is anchored, not the document. Anchoring is a paid feature. HashSign cannot delete a digest that has already been written to the ledger.

Messages sent before version 1.3.0 were not encrypted on the device before they were stored.

5. Your account

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for the documents you upload or sign. Do not use the Service to break the law, to impersonate someone else, or to upload malware.

7. Biometric Face Signature and US ID Verification

Biometric Face Signature and US ID Verification are available only for United States signers. Face Signature is US-only.

You must check the biometric consent box before HashSign opens the camera or a biometric prompt. The checkbox is not pre-checked. Facial images and ID photos are processed on your device and deleted immediately. HashSign does not sell, lease, or use them to train AI models. The stored record is a SHA-384 commitment, a consent timestamp, and a redacted ID attestation.

The sender can require a face signature on a document they send. An invited signer in the United States can complete that signature.

If this device does not have your encryption key, you can reset it in Settings. New messages use the new key. Older encrypted messages from the previous device remain unreadable here.

8. Biometric privacy

This section is the biometric notice for the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act and the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, as they apply to a US signer who opts in. The purpose is identity proofing and non-repudiation under ESIGN and UETA. The retention of raw frames is immediate destruction. The retention of the cryptographic commitment is the life of the signature record. Contact privacy@hashsign.app with questions.
